Smart phones and devices providing immediate access to health information are only the first step towards being an interface for therapeutic treatments and supports. We can expect wearable and implanted biometric devices connecting to our smart phones as an emerging market as people experiencing chronic illnesses increasingly look to take control of their health and independence. Third party monitoring by our health professionals will be seen as insurance in the event of an acute event.  It’s pretty exciting for people captive in their homes for fear of being unwell in public.
