The challenge for mission and purpose organisations is to articulate measurable social impact as part of a robust business case for investment. The reliance of many organisations on government funding allocations has diluted mission focus and in some cases weakened their capacity to make the case for investing in their social purpose. This capacity building funding along with appropriate guidance can help break this dependency. It’s a great opportunity for change!
It is great news that Philanthropy Australia and the NAB have jointly contributed to establishing a $500m impact investing fund aimed at growing the number of social enterprises managed by NFPs in Australia.
